Margate's marina row runs along the bayfront near Amherst Avenue, facing the lagoons and thorofares behind Absecon Island. Boats here work the Intracoastal in both directions, north toward Absecon Inlet or south toward Great Egg Harbor Inlet, with miles of back-bay water in between. It is a classic bayside scene, busiest on summer evenings when the whole town seems to be on the water.
